Illegal marriage case against Imran Khan: Awn Chaudhry records statement
In the District and Session Court of Islamabad, Awn Chaudhry has recorded his statement in the case of illegal marriage against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
In his statement, Awn Chaudhry said that he was Imran Khan's personal assistant, political secretary and close associate, and he also looked after all his political and personal affairs. Imran Khan divorced Reham Khan in 2015.
In court, Awn Chaudhry stated that Imran Khan was told by Bushra Bibi to immediately divorce Reham Khan, and she told him that divorcing Reham was better for him. Reham was not present in the country, and on Bushra Bibi's advice, Imran Khan gave her divorce via email.
Awn Chaudhry said that after the divorce, Imran Khan remained mentally disturbed. He would often ask me to take him to Bushra Bibi. The series of meetings between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi continued.
He stated that on December 31, 2017, Imran Khan told him that he wanted to marry Bushra Bibi on January 1, 2018. He asked me to arrange the marriage arrangements, and I expressed my surprise at his request.
Awn Chaudhry said, "I said that Bushra Bibi was already married, but Imran Khan told me that they had gotten divorced." Awn Chaudhry stated that he believed Imran Khan and the next day, on January 1, 2018, he accompanied Mufti Saeed and Zulfi Bukhari to witness Imran Khan's marriage to Bushra Bibi in Lahore.
He stated that he was a witness to the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Before the marriage, Mufti Saeed asked me about Bushra Bibi's divorce papers, and Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi told Mufti Saeed that they would provide the divorce papers. After the marriage, it became apparent that the waiting period for the previous marriage's divorce had not been completed.
The waiting period duration was supposed to end between February 14 and 18, 2018. I asked Imran Khan during the waiting period about the marriage, and he said that Bushra Bibi had received a decree that they would get married on the first day of 2018.
Bushra Bibi told Imran Khan that if we become husband and wife, you will become the Prime Minister. The wedding ceremony and the marriage were based on fraud, influenced by the prediction, and Imran Khan got married.
The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad adjourned the hearing of the case until May 10. Earlier, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad had accepted Awn Chaudhry's request to record a statement in the case of Imran Khan's illegal marriage. District Judge Nasar Minallah had given a reserved judgment.
Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, may Allah bless him, had granted permission to Awn Chaudhry to give a statement. Awn Chaudhry will now be silenced in court during the next hearing.
Remember that on April 27, the District and Session Court in Islamabad had dismissed Awn Chaudhry's request to silence his statement against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the case of an illegal marriage. However, the final decision was not heard due to the departure of Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk.
Today, the decision to allow Awn Chaudhry to give his statement in court was announced.
During the previous hearing, the court officials had stated that Senior Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk Baloch would be away until May 2.
It should be noted that the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi has already been silenced by the involvement of Mufti Saeed, and Awn Chaudhry was included as a witness in their marriage.
