Former Minister Shireen Mazari has left the Party and Politics
Shireen Mazari, former Federal Minister for Human Rights, has announced her disassociation not only from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but also from politics altogether.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Shireen Mazari stated that she condemns the events of May 9 and 10, for which she has also signed a pledge.
She said that she always condemns all forms of violence, whether it is directed at GHQ, Parliament, or the Supreme Court, as symbols of the state.
Shireen Mazari mentioned that the ordeal she and her daughter Imaan went through has led her to the decision of leaving politics.
The senior politician also mentioned that her health has been affected during the ten times she was abducted and released. Her daughter, Imaan Mazari, had to go through a particularly trying experience.
She said that when she was taken to jail for the third time, her daughter was deeply upset, and she watched the video of her crying.
Shireen Mazari stated that she is no longer part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
She expressed that she has made the decision to leave politics, and from today onwards, she is not a part of the PTI or any other political party.
She mentioned that her health is not in a good state. Her health, children, and mother take priority for her, and nothing else is important to her.
She stated that when her husband was alive, her children had his support. But during the ten times she was taken, her health deteriorated. Now, she will focus on her children, mother, and health.
Shireen Mazari concluded the press conference by stating that she is not feeling well.
