According to Saudi Gazette, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director-General of Public Security, said that strict measures would be taken against those who commit negative acts, including begging, inside Masjid al-Haram and its courtyards, and that they would be dealt with severely.
He was speaking at a press conference with commanders of the Umrah security forces at the Unified Operation Center 911 in Makkah, where Al-Bassami and other top security officials shared details of the Ministry of Interior's plans and the annual Umrah season, which concludes during the holy month of Ramadan. Major General Hamoud Al-Faraj, Director-General of the Sol Defense, and Major General Saleh Al-Marba, Deputy Director-General of Passports, also participated in the press conference.
