Three officers, including a Lieutenant General, have been dismissed from their jobs

Three officers, including a Lieutenant General, have been dismissed from their jobs by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Major General Ahmed Sharif, the Director General of Public Relations for the Pakistan Army, stated that the army has completed its process of self-accountability. Action has been taken against those officers who failed in protecting the GHQ, Jinnah House, and military installations. Three officers holding positions under the Lieutenant General have been relieved of their duties. The events of 9th May had already created unrest.

The DG ISPR stated that it was unexpected for a political party to incite attacks on the military. For the past year, false propaganda has been spread for political purposes and a thirst for power. Justice will prevail until the masterminds behind the incident of 9th May are brought to justice.

Major General Ahmed Sharif also mentioned that if action is not taken today, tomorrow another political group will target the army for condemnable motives. All respectable political parties are respected by the army. On 15th May, a message was given for all stakeholders to sit together and form a consensus.

He said that the operation against terrorism is being conducted with unity. Poisonous propaganda is being spread against the armed forces of Pakistan. The families of martyrs have been hurt. Did the martyrs sacrifice themselves so that their symbols could be disrespected? Will they use the sacrifices of martyrs for their condemnable political motives? When will those who planned heinous acts be brought to justice? When will those who planned the gruesome acts be brought to justice? The heirs of the martyrs are repeatedly asking for the Army Chief and us.

The DG ISPR stated that the armed forces cannot be separated from their people under any circumstances. For the past year, false propaganda has been spread for political purposes and a thirst for power. It is even more shameful to blame the military and agencies for the incident of 9th May. Within a few hours of the arrests, attacks were carried out on 200 installations.

Major General Ahmed Sharif asked, did the army carry out propaganda against itself? Did the army attack its own military installations? Did we burn the memorials of our martyrs with our own soldiers? Who staged the display of weapons at the High Court building? When this series was ongoing, who was fueling it from a nameless account?

The DG ISPR further stated that allegations of human rights violations are fabricated against Pakistan. It is often observed that terrorist organizations hide behind these allegations. Fake videos and audios are spread for propaganda purposes. Social media has been used against the military. Statements are circulated through specific individuals using money. Human rights organizations and NGOs are used to spread these statements. It is claimed that the military is committing oppression in Pakistan. External organizations are urged to cut off economic aid to Pakistan, and an outcry is being raised in the name of human rights violations.

Major General Ahmed Sharif also mentioned that the events of 9th May were not sudden; they were planned and premeditated. The objective was to launch attacks on military installations and provoke a reaction from the armed forces. They wanted to advance their nefarious objectives through the military's response. Women were also intended to be used as shields within the plan. The desired narrative would have been successful if the action they wanted had taken place. People's minds were being influenced for many months. The planners of the 9th May scheme, facilitators, and their roles must be exposed. Social media has become a tool for spreading propaganda against Pakistan like an epidemic. The masterminds of the events of 9th May were the ones continuously fueling anti-military sentiments. The greatest threat to Pakistan is internal destabilization, with terrorism being one of the dangers. Political stakeholders should sit together and form a national consensus.

He emphasized that the Pakistan Army has complete consensus and transparency in its decision-making. Numerous pieces of evidence have been collected in the ongoing investigations, and more evidence is being discovered. The enemy forces attempted to create a rift between the people and the army. The Pakistani armed forces are sacrificing countless lives for the nation and will continue to do so.

Major General Ahmed Sharif stated that on May 9, false slogans of revolution were raised to incite the youth towards rebellion. The May 9 incident will not be forgotten or forgiven, and all those involved in the planning and execution will be held accountable under the Constitution of Pakistan and the law. Those who obstructed the progress of bringing this act to its conclusion will be dealt with firmly.

The Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also mentioned that a retired four-star general's nephew and a retired three-star general's son-in-law are also under arrest. Military courts are conducting trials for 102 extremists, and this process will continue.

Major General Ahmed Sharif further stated that there is an ongoing case in the Supreme Court regarding military courts. Currently, 17 standing courts are functioning throughout the country. Military courts were already in existence and active before May 9.

He added that the evidence and according to the law, the cases have been transferred from civil courts to military courts. After reviewing the evidence, the civil courts have referred these cases to the military courts. All the accused have full legal rights, including the right to appeal. The Army Act and the Constitution have been part of our legal system for decades, and after a thorough examination, the International Court of Justice has validated it. Punishment and rewards are part of the human society, religion, and the Constitution of Pakistan. For us, the Constitution of Pakistan is paramount.

He further mentioned that in the past year, 95 officers and soldiers embraced martyrdom. The successful fight against terrorism will continue until the complete eradication of the last terrorist. The trust of the people is that the military will not hesitate to make any sacrifices, regardless of the circumstances.
