Defense Minister Khawaja Asif presented a resolution against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the National Assembly.

He stated that a group and its leaders crossed all boundaries on May 9, launching attacks on military installations worldwide. In such cases, the armed forces have the authority to take action, and the perpetrators should be penalized under the Army Act without any delay. Khawaja Asif expressed his views, stating that the attacks caused irreparable damage to state institutions and the country. The actions against the militants did not violate human rights but were within the military's authority to respond to attacks on military installations globally.

The accused should be penalized under the Army Act. Khawaja Asif stated in the parliament that evidence of the events on May 9 is available. On May 9, attacks were carried out as per the plan, targeting the country's defense capabilities, individuals, weapons, or military installations, including general headquarters and active installations. The attacks were carried out according to a planned strategy, and nothing else was targeted.

Our military sacrifices lives for the defense of the nation. Maulana Chitrali can tolerate insults to the blood of those soldiers, but Pakistan cannot. How can anyone tolerate the disrespect of martyrs? Our system has been compromised to a great extent. No new law is being enacted for the events of May 9. Instead, the existing laws and constitution are being implemented. Cases will be pursued in military courts according to the law. Whether the enemy attacks from outside or within, the law is applicable to everyone. How can attacks on military installations be forgotten? Cases related to attacks on military installations are tried in military courts throughout the world. When attacks occurred on the White House, an 18-year imprisonment sentence was handed down. Why is the US and UK not held accountable for human rights violations in Gaza and Syria?

I want to say in response to Maulana Chitrali's opposition that our courts do not have the right to take suo moto actions. We have amended the law, but he has put it on hold. We said there would be three judges instead of one, but it has been put on hold. Neither Nawaz Sharif nor Yousaf Raza Gillani had the right to appeal, but here, appeals can be made against the decisions of military courts, first to the Army Chief, then to the High Court and Supreme Court. On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami opposed the decision to run PTI cases in military courts.
