The President of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has announced a boycott of the Supreme Court's three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial. He has also stated that no party leader or representative will appear in the Supreme Court on Thursday for any judicial matter.

Maulana has taken the leadership of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) into confidence and stated that Parliament had expressed a vote of no-confidence in the bench that has caused a dispute, according to their agreement.

Another significant development is that the President of the PDM has clearly refused to sit with the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan.

According to sources, a PPP delegation met Maulana near his ancestral home in Dera Ismail Khan, but the delegation could not convince Maulana to hold talks with the PTI.

Maulana informed the guests that his party had decided to distance itself from the Supreme Court's proceedings.

Sources say that Bilawal Bhutto returned from Dera Ismail Khan and had an important meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on his return. The Prime Minister has made it clear to Bilawal Bhutto that they respect Maulana Fazlur Rehman's opinion as Imran Khan and his party's views are not correct according to the Maulana.

They said that they respect the opinion of Maulana as the President of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and will meet him in Dera Ismail Khan next week after the Eid holidays.
