Pakistan's total debt is $270 billion, a debt so large that the economies of Finland or Chile could comfortably fit into it.

Hearing this makes you feel that the situation is very bad. Exactly, but for you and me. Not for government employees.

There are 3.2 million government employees in Pakistan. 5 lakh 80 thousand of them are in the federation. Trillions of rupees are spent on the salaries and benefits of these employees.

You have seen the servants' quarters of common houses, then why are these public servants given grand palaces? And that too with public tax money. This story is also very interesting.

In fact these are the heirs of the British Raj, the Brown English. During the British Raj, officers were sent from Britain to India. But the vacancies were more and the people less. 

Then who would leave the quality of life of Britain and come to India or Africa? Here Britain has done two things, one is to relax the merit condition, the other is to offer huge compensation packages. This residence of Commissioner Sargodha Sahib is the remnant of this compensation package. 

It is a continuation of this system that today five and a half lakh employees of the federal government get about one thousand billion rupees in salaries and allowances every year. People will want to work here. But it will shock you that our government employees are having more fun than UN employees. How? Let's review.

See, in a government job, no matter how low the basic pay is, the package is huge. Look at these 22 graders. 

Their average basic salary is around Rs. But by adding conveyance, rentals, medical and other allowances, it becomes 455,000.

Now this is the income that is written on the salary slip. Apart from this, there are some allowances. For example, the government pays an additional cost of one hundred and sixty thousand rupees for the vehicle, driver, and fuel. 

The rent of the house they get is around five lakh rupees. In addition to the medical allowance, Rs. That is, all together, a grade 22 officer costs one million 54 thousand rupees. Free electricity, gas, phone facility, foreign trips in the name of training and earning of "Hada Mun Fazl Rabi" are apart from this.

Well, let's go ahead. You should understand that the actual packages of officers of various grades are five or sometimes seven times more than their basic pay. 

Then the promotion system of these officers is also peculiar. In school, a child moves to the next grade only if he passes the test. But there is no such cycle here.
