According to media reports, a meeting of the National Security Committee is likely to be convened by caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar regarding the Pak-Iran tension. Army, Navy and Air Force chiefs will participate in this high-level meeting along with the civil leadership. Senior officials of the Ministry of Defense and Foreign Affairs will also participate in the meeting. In the high-level meeting, the situation of law and order in the country will also be considered regarding the elections.
On the other hand, the President of the country, Dr. Arif Alvi, in his statement on Pakistan's operation in Iran's Sistan province, praised the professionalism of the armed forces in targeting the hideouts of terrorists while saving Iranian citizens from loss of life. Pakistan will not compromise on its national security and territorial integrity, Pakistan will take all necessary measures to defend its land, terrorism is a common challenge, global efforts are needed to eradicate it.
